Architecture is an inspiration for better living. Between the word luxury and the object of a purse, there is a connection. Luxury is defined in the dictionary as the state of great comfort and extravagant living.

Finding a connection between these two words back to architecture meant I had to explore beyond the obvious. High quality or expensive material does not ensure luxury. Luxury is defined by the relationship it has with the individual. Whether it be an inexpensive hand purse or a trip to the Eiffel Tower, the experience the person has with the object matters. The Eiffel Tower was first planned out in pencil. Creating a blueprint is required to draw out the details of an architectural piece. A purse follows the same process. The designer must think about the interior and exterior of the purse which first starts with sketches on paper. In the end, the product is unique with its one of a kind identity.

Architecture is structure, function and aesthetic. The relationship a purse and luxury have together relating back to architecture isn’t obvious. Architecture inspires us to live for a better living, to live greatly and to live big for the future in whichever way you choose.
